Description & Details: We are seeking for a motivated postdoctoral researcher, who is interested in Type 1 diabetes research, molecular systems-immunology and metabolomics. Successful applicant will join our international multidisciplinary research group based at Academy of Finland Center of Excellence at Turku Centre for Biotechnology (the Centre), BioCity Turku, Turku, Finland.  The postdoctoral scientist will work on computational systems medicine, particularly metabolomics and related biostatistics approaches for biomarker discovery. The primary aim of the research is to develop robust methods for the identification of disease markers based on metabolic profile data. Adj. Prof. Matej Oresic leads the systems medicine efforts in the Academy of Finland Center of Excellence in Molecular Systems Immunology and Physiology (SyMMyS) and work in close collaboration with Prof. Harri Lähdesmäki, Aalto University (http://research.ics.aalto.fi/csb/).

Successful applicant has:

  • A relevant doctoral degree in life sciences or in computational biology/mathematics.
  • Outstanding personal initiative and communication skills.
  • High quality publications in international journals in at least one of the following areas: computational biology, fluxomics or metabolomics.
  • Excellent skills in computational biology, fluxomics and metabolomics.
