Job Purpose
To create and maintain monitoring solutions to support a customer driven environment.
Skill Set:
BMC Monitoring Tools – Portal Express, Patrol, BPPM
Knowledge of Windows & Linux/UNIX/AIX OS’s
Key Responsibilities
· Configure monitors in BMC Tools.
· Adjust metrics for existing monitors.
· Diagnose issues causing monitor failures.
· Diagnose script failures.
· Assist with transaction performance issues.
· Provide metric and/or transaction reports.
· Ensure proper alert notification and trouble ticket generation.
· Schedule maintenance or SLA blackouts.
· Monitor ticket queue to respond to incidents and requests.
· Provide On call support
· Drive quality in the work
· Should be able to work independently
· Should be a Self-starter
Knowledge Requirements
· 3-5 years experience with Windows System admin activities and with monitoring solutions.
· Working Experience with BMC Monitoring suite – Portal, Patrol, BPPM
· Knowledge of the Microsoft Windows Operating System. This includes but is not limited to remote access, basic commands, and OS navigation.
· Knowledge of the UNIX/Linux Operating Systems. This includes but is not limited to SSL access, basic commands, and OS navigation.
· Understanding of Network functions.
